One Arkansas Tech student is already experiencing the impact of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.
Arkansas Tech junior Zachary Dean (photographed left) won $147,059 on an instant $100,000 Taxes Paid lottery ticket. Upon paying the taxes on his winnings, Dean will receive $100,000.
Dean purchased the $5 ticket at Sargent’s 66 on U.S. 71 North in Alma on Saturday, March 27, and he says this was only the third time he had purchased a lottery ticket.
Dean says he “got really excited and couldn’t believe it at first” when he learned he had won.
He says he will purchase a new truck with the money he receives, and he plans to “invest for the future” with the remainder of his winnings.
