Tech Softball Drops Two at HSU

Henderson State University swept a Great American Conference softball doubleheader from the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns at Dee White Field in Arkadelphia on Saturday.

The Lady Reddies (10-9 overall, 3-3 GAC) won by scores of 8-5 and 8-0.

Arkansas Tech (7-7, 3-3) led game one 4-2 after four innings, but Henderson State struck for five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. The Lady Reddies had five hits and the Golden Suns committed two errors during the HSU rally.

Game two was all about Lady Reddie starting pitcher Kasey Carlock. She limited Arkansas Tech to just one hit in a game that was stopped after five innings because of the mercy rule.

The Golden Suns and the Lady Reddies will play another GAC softball doubleheader at Dee White Field on Sunday, March 4. First pitch is set for 11 a.m.
