Tech Professors Write Grant

Two Arkansas Tech professors aided in the receipt of a new grant for the River Valley Christian Clinic in Dardanelle.

Associate Professors Shelly Daily and Dr. Terri McKown helped write a grant for the clinic to receive funding from the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas.

Daily and McKown are both Advanced Practical Nurses and provide services to patients at the clinic.

The clinic received $56,000 from the grant. The Blue awarded a total of $1,723,343 in grants to 23 health improvement programs in Arkansas.

The River Valley Christian Clinic serves approximately 1,000 patients in the Dardanelle area by providing free medical, dental, vision and medication assistance.

“Our grants this year went to programs throughout Arkansas that address such issues as obesity, diabetes, healthy lifestyle choices, medical care for low-income individuals, dental health and safety,” said Patrick O’Sullivan, executive director of the Blue & You Foundation.
