Tech Open House Set for Oct. 16

Many high school students will be able to learn more about the various educational opportunities available at Arkansas Tech University during an open house event on Saturday, October 16.

The annual Tech Open House is sponsored by the Admissions Office and runs from 10:30 a.m. – noon at the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center.

The event is designed to help future students learn more about the university, and during the event, representatives from the more than 100 degree programs offered at Tech will be on hand to visit with students and answer questions they may have.

Additionally, representatives from the University Honors program, Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Residential Life, Academic Advising and Athletics will also be available to meet with students.

Organizers say students attending the open house have the opportunity to see what Arkansas Tech has to offer both inside and outside of the classroom.

In addition to the morning event, those in attendance will also receive complimentary tickets to the homecoming football game against Southern Arkansas University.  The game will be played at Thone Stadium.

Students attending the event will also be able to register for a fall 2011 tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech.  The drawing for the scholarship will take place at halftime during the football game.
