Arkansas Tech became a pioneer in emergency management education when it introduced its Bachelor of Science degree in emergency management in 1997.
The institution later added a Master of Science degree in emergency management and homeland security and became the first university to earn accreditation from the Foundation on Higher Education in Disaster/Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
