Tech Named 2017 Military Friendly School

Arkansas Tech University has achieved the distinction of Military Friendly School for 2017 following compilation of data by ratings organization Victory Media.

The designation is based upon exceeding benchmark standards in six areas: academic policies and compliance, admissions and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid and assistance, graduation and career and military student support and retention.

Assessment by Victory Media includes analysis of public data from the U.S. Department of Education, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense as well as proprietary data obtained through an annual Military Friendly Schools survey that is offered to more than 8,800 institutions across the United States.

In order to earn the Military Friendly distinction, an institution must engage prospective military students or employees in a recruiting environment, educate military students or employees once they are part of the company or school and employ military students or employees in meaningful employment as part of its military recruiting strategy.

The final determination of Military Friendly status is made by combining the survey scores with an assessment of the institution’s performance in student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment and loan default rates for all students, and specifically, for student veterans.

There are 1,273 Military Friendly schools on the 2017 list published by Victory Media. A complete list is available at www.militaryfriendly.com.
