Six wins over Great American Conference foes last week allowed Arkansas Tech University to maintain its No. 5 ranking in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division II top 25 softball poll released on Wednesday, April 6.
The Golden Suns (36-3 overall, 26-2 GAC) swept a doubleheader from Harding University and a four-game series from the University of Arkansas-Monticello last week.
As a result, Arkansas Tech is among the NFCA top five for a sixth consecutive week.
GAC-leading Arkansas Tech will host second-place Southern Arkansas University (31-4, 23-4) for a four-game GAC series at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville on Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9.
First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday. Radio station KCAB 97.1 FM/980 AM and www.arkansastechsports.com will have live coverage.
