Hundreds of students gathered at Tucker Coliseum Tuesday evening for the preliminary round of the annual Tech Idol singing competition.
During the preliminary event, each contestant performed and received a critique from the judges.
After all contestants performed, fans had the opportunity to vote for their favorite performer.
The competition will narrow Friday evening, as only the top six will advance to perform again. From those six, the Tech fans will select the 2015 Tech Idol. Friday’s competition is in Tucker Coliseum and begins at 8 p.m.
The event is hosted by the Office of Residence Life and the Residence Hall Association.
