Members of the Arkansas Tech University community will come together on Saturday to help provide meals for those in need in the River Valley.
The university will host a “The Pack Shack” event from 9 a.m. – noon in Young Ballroom.
During that time, volunteers will attempt to pack 37,000 meals for those in the area that are food insecure.
“The Pack Shack” is a non-profit organization headquartered in Rogers that seeks to “supply provisions and opportunities for our neighbors in need.”
All supplies will be provided to volunteers taking part, and the first 500 volunteers will receive a free long sleeve t-shirt.
The event is one of several activities taking place at Arkansas Tech to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2016. Learn more about other events planned.
