Arkansas Tech University Fishing Club members Evan Barnes and Reagan Moore will compete in the 2012 National Guard FLW College Southern Conference Championship on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville this weekend.
The full field of 20 collegiate fishing teams will take to the water on Thursday and Friday, with the top five teams advancing to the final day of competition for the FLW College Southern Conference title on Saturday.
Those top five teams will also advance to the 2013 National Guard FLW College National Championship, which will be held on Lake Harris in South Carolina.
Daily weigh-ins for the conference championship tournament will be held at Walmart of Russellville at 4 p.m. There will be an outdoor expo available from noon-4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at Walmart of Russellville.
Representatives from National Guard FLW college fishing will be on the Arkansas Tech campus near Chambers Cafeteria from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday. There will be free college fishing caps and visors for Tech students, and students can register for an opportunity to win a $250 Walmart gift card.
This week’s FLW College Southern Conference Championship is hosted by the Russellville Advertising and Promotions Committee.
