Arkansas Tech’s Rebecka Surtevall completed the 2012 RCB Bank Classic with a 36-hole total of 2-over par 144 and a share of second place at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Surtevall, a sophomore from Stockholm, Sweden, shot 70 on Monday and 74 on Tuesday to finish one stroke behind individual tournament champion Anna Arrese Cortadellas of Oklahoma Christian University. Cortadellas fired rounds of 73-70 for a 143 total.
The Golden Suns finished ninth among 17 teams in the event, which was hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma. Tech had team scores of 304-307 for a 611 total.
Emelie Alpe (T-39th, 79-76-155), Taylor Kline (T-45th, 83-73-156), Niki Possage (T-61st, 74-85-159) and Megan Jeffery (T-79th, 81-84-165) also contributed to the Golden Suns’ team score.
Arkansas Tech’s Shelby Jones (91st, 89-86-175) competed as an individual.
The team title went to St. Edward’s University, which returned team scores of 296-292 for a 588 total and a six-stroke win.
The Golden Suns will take part in the Dallas Baptist University Classic on Oct. 15-16.
