Head coach Amy White and the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns golf team captured the team title at the Henderson State Lady Reddie Classic Oct. 29-30 at Glenwood Country Club.
The Golden Suns completed the 36-hole event with a team score of 615 to finish 18 strokes clear off a nine-team field. Harding University finished second with a 36-hole team score of 633.
Arkansas Tech’s Emelie Alpe fired rounds of 74 and 74 for a 148 total and a runaway victory in the individual standings. Harding’s Emily Plyler shot 79-75 for a 36-hole total of 154 and a runner-up finish.
Rebecka Surtevall (3rd, 75-80-155), Megan Jeffery (T-4th, 81-75-156), Niki Possage (T-7th, 79-78-157) and Taylor Kline (T-11th, 80-82-162) also contributed to the Golden Suns’ team victory.
Megan Kelley (T-24th, 84-89-173) and Shelby Jones (T-26th, 86-89-175) of Arkansas Tech competed in the event as individuals.
The victory at the HSU Lady Reddie Classic concluded the fall portion of the Golden Suns’ 2012-13 golf schedule.
