Arkansas Tech University closed out the regular season portion of its 2017 women’s cross country schedule on Saturday with a second consecutive team title.
The Golden Suns accumulated 20 points to win the non-NCAA Division I portion of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Invitational, which was contested at Rebsamen Park Golf Course. John Brown University finished second among a field of eight teams with 53 points.
The win came one week after ATU captured the team title at the University of the Ozarks Invitational.
Tech’s Aubre Gilreath took first place in the individual standings at the UA-Little Rock meet with a time of 19 minutes, 31.83 seconds over the 5-kilometer course. Her sister and teammate Halle Gilreath crossed the finish line in 20:20.99 to finish second.
Mallory Morris (4th, 20:36.25), Logan Edwards (5th, 20:44.95), Lauryn Doublet (8th, 21:17.27), Cami Hedstrom (9th, 21:20.00), Megan Bradley (12th, 21:40.32) and Adrianna Simmons (26th, 24:52.11) also competed in the meet for the Golden Suns.
Arkansas Tech will run in the 2017 Great American Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 21, in Magnolia.
