Suns Finish 7th at GAC Cross Country Meet

Arkansas Tech University placed seventh among nine teams in the 2012 Great American Conference Women’s Cross Country Championships, which were held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at East Central University in Ada, Okla.

Arkansas Tech University placed seventh among nine teams in the 2012 Great American Conference Women’s Cross Country Championships, which were held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at East Central University in Ada, Okla.

The Golden Suns were led by Kayla Waldrup, who covered the 5-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 3.3 seconds to finish 37th in the individual standings.

Kaitlin Bounds (45th, 22:29.2), Amanda Bradbury (61st, 23:28.1), Cheryl Fleming (65th, 23:45.0) and Katherine Selman (74th, 24:54.9) also competed for Arkansas Tech.

East Central University won the 2012 GAC women’s cross country team championship, while Ewa Zaborowska of Harding University was the individual champion.
