Arkansas Tech University moved into second place in the Great American Conference softball standings with a doubleheader sweep of Harding University on Tuesday.
The Golden Suns (20-12 overall, 14-6 GAC) defeated the Lady Bisons 3-1 and 8-1 at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville.
Megan Goodnight (7-0) pitched a complete game for Arkansas Tech in the opener. Paty Loredo and Makenzie Goins notched two base hits apiece.
The nightcap saw Kristen Dempsey (6-3) go the distance in the circle for the Golden Suns while Sydnie Henson and Sarah Coronado both recorded two runs batted in.
Arkansas Tech will host Southwestern Oklahoma State University for a four-game GAC series at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30.
First pitch is booked for 3 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.
