Suns Earn Perfect 4-0 Grade in Huntsville

Arkansas Tech completed an undefeated run through the 2010 University of Alabama in Huntsville/Country Inn and Suites Tournament by posting two shutout wins in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday.

The Golden Suns (12-3) defeated West Alabama 25-9, 25-17, 25-14 on Saturday morning. Tech had a team hitting percentage of .271, while UWA hit minus-.012.

Sarah Von Lienen had 11 kills, Laura Farney made 10 kills, Kera Dukic recorded 23 assists and Brennae Benda collected 13 digs in the win.

Kelly O’Malley notched 12 kills to lead Arkansas Tech to a 25-13, 25-21, 25-19 victory over West Georgia later on Saturday.

Dukic (photographed) posted 33 assists and 10 digs against the Wolves for her first double-double of the season.

The Suns finished the UAH/Country Inn and Suites Tournament with a 4-0 record. Tech defeated Valdosta State and Alabama-Huntsville on Friday.

The Golden Suns will host Ouachita Baptist for their GSC opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.
