Arkansas Tech University improved to 8-1 at home during the 2018 volleyball season by defeating the University of Arkansas-Monticello 25-14, 25-15, 25-15 in Great American Conference play at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Tuesday night.
The Golden Suns (16-9 overall, 9-4 GAC) finished with a .418 team hitting percentage (40 kills, seven attack errors, 79 total attempts) while the Cotton Blossoms (6-23, 3-10) hit .106 (29 kills, 19 attack errors, 94 total attempts).
Hunter Eshnaur recorded 13 kills and Allie Anderson made 10 kills for Arkansas Tech. Emily Acker notched 23 assists and Meredith Darnell contributed 10 digs.
The special edition pink jerseys the Golden Suns wore during the match were auctioned to raise funds for breast cancer awareness.
ATU will face Southern Arkansas University for a 6 p.m. league match in Magnolia on Thursday, Oct. 25.
