Arkansas Tech University went 0-3 at the Peggy Martin Challenge volleyball classic hosted by the University of Central Missouri on Friday and Saturday in Warrensburg, Mo.
The Golden Suns (6-6) will return to Great American Conference play by visiting Harding University for a 6 p.m. match in Searcy on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
Tech’s next home volleyball match is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, when Ouachita Baptist University will visit Tucker Coliseum. No admission will be charged.
Northwest Missouri State University 3, Arkansas Tech 1
A team hitting percentage of .326 lifted Northwest Missouri State to a 25-23, 25-15, 24-26, 25-14 victory over Arkansas Tech on Friday.
The Bearcats made 58 kills and 16 attack errors in 129 total attempts.
Hunter Eshnaur recorded 13 kills and Lauren Rodemers made 12 kills to lead the Golden Suns. Sarah Rosinke added a double-double with 23 assists and 12 digs, while Amanda Milnick had 17 assists and Madison Nagel made 15 digs for Arkansas Tech.
Central Missouri 3, Arkansas Tech 0
Central Missouri’s Kylie Hohlen was credited with 12 kills and Cheyanne Lyons contributed 11 kills to pace the Jennies to a 25-20, 25-9, 25-21 defeat of Arkansas Tech on Friday night.
Milnick made 12 digs and 11 assists for the Golden Suns.
Newman University 3, Arkansas Tech 2
A run of three consecutive points to close out the match allowed Newman University to slip past Arkansas Tech 25-21, 17-25, 30-28, 18-25, 17-15 on Saturday.
Four Golden Suns reached double figures in kills, led by Milnick and Kenzie Dozier with 17 apiece. Eshnaur finished with 16 kills and McCall Wilkins chipped in 13 kills.
Rosinke (31 assists) and Milnick (28 assists) directed a Tech offense that completed the match with a .293 team hitting percentage. Nagel (25 digs) and Matti Dix (20 digs) led the Suns’ back row defense.
