Suns Blank CBU in GSC Tennis Match

Arkansas Tech continued its pursuit of a third consecutive berth in the Gulf South Conference Tennis Tournament by posting a shutout win over the Christian Brothers Lady Buccaneers at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex on Monday.

The Golden Suns (8-3 overall, 3-1 GSC) swept all six singles matches and all three doubles matches for a 9-0 victory.

Tech has two regular season conference matches remaining. The Suns will host Harding on Thursday, April 8, and Henderson State on Saturday, April 10.

If Tech finishes in the top four of the final GSC West Division standings, it will go to the tennis postseason for a third straight year. The 2010 GSC Tournament is scheduled for April 17-18 in Montgomery, Ala.

The Suns have two non-conference tune-ups remaining. Tech will host the University of the Ozarks at 4 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 30) and it will visit Northeastern State for a 2 p.m. match in Tahlequah, Okla., on Wednesday, March 31.
