Arkansas Tech had 42 kills against just six attack errors in 98 attempts for a .367 hitting percentage.
The Suns have now hit .271 or higher in eight consecutive matches. They only matched or exceeded that percentage once in their first nine matches.
Sarah Von Lienen led Tech on Thursday with 11 kills. Laura Farney had nine kills and 12 digs, Kera Dukic was credited with 31 assists, Brennae Benda made 16 digs and Marcela Mascarenhas had 11 digs in the win.
Becca Pate had eight kills and 11 digs for Southern Arkansas (6-5, 0-2).
The Golden Suns will be idle until Tuesday, Sept. 28, when they will host Harding University for a 7 p.m. match at Tucker Coliseum.
Harding was picked as the preseason favorite to win the 2010 GSC West Division title. Arkansas Tech was picked to finish second.
Either the Lady Bisons or the Golden Suns have won the GSC West title 11 of the last 13 years.
