Students Update Flower Beds at Dean Hall

Arkansas Tech University students are showcasing their knowledge to help beautify the Arkansas Tech campus.

Students enrolled in a beginning floriculture course at Arkansas Tech updated the plant beds in the gathering space outside of Dean Hall.

The students in the class grew the plants from clippings and then transplanted the plants to the beds earlier this week.

“This class is offered in the fall and spring, and the students taking the class learn all aspects of plant life,” said Dr. Jim Collins, professor of horticulture. “These type of activities give students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom and in the greenhouses.”
