Two Arkansas Tech University students commissioned into the United States Army Saturday morning in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building Lecture Hall.
The commissioning ceremony took prior to commencement exercises at Arkansas Tech, and Owen Davis and Kevin Satterfield both joined the U. S. Army at the rank of second lieutenant.
During the ceremony the new officers received a black beret as a symbol of their success. Additional, both students received their first salute and a silver dollar from a non-commissioned officer.
Following the ceremony, the new officers were recognized during a reception held in their honor in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building Rotunda.
