Students Receive Leadership Training Saturday

More than 20 Arkansas Tech University students  will be attending a leadership conference Saturday in order to become better leaders.

The Student Volunteer and Leadership Program and the Student Government Association are partnering to present the 2010 Spring Leadership Summit on Saturday.

Katie Uttich, graduate assistant, says those attending will participate in several workshops, which are all designed to help the students improve their leadership skills.  Some of the topics that will be covered in the conference include teamwork, publicity and credibility.

Uttich says those attending the conference represent leaders from a variety of student organizations.

“This is the first time we’ve hosted a conference like this, and we believe it will be a huge help to our student leaders,”  adds Uttich.  “Our goal is to to provide collegiate student leaders with comprehensive tools to achieve their leadership potential and positively impact their campuses and community.”
