Earlier this week several Arkansas Tech University students learned about the struggles individuals living at or near the poverty line face.
The students took part in a poverty simulation where they assumed the identity of an individual living on the brink of poverty.
During the event, the students were tasked with paying their bills, acquiring assistance and locating work.
Hosted by the Office of Campus Life, the event is designed to help provide awareness opportunities for Arkansas Tech students.
