Students Earn Microsoft Certification

Twenty-three Arkansas Tech University students achieved Microsoft Office Certification through their successful completion of an advanced Microsoft techniques course offered by the College of Business during the spring 2016 semester.

Certification was achieved by completing exams in Word, Excel and Access.

“The students mastered the advanced formulas and functions in Excel as well as how to use pivot tables and charts to analyze data, use scenario manager to create what-if analysis, advanced charting skills and use Access to analyze data,” said Alice Batch, visiting assistant professor of business at Arkansas Tech. “These skills are important in the business world and the certification will help these students get ahead in fields such as technology, accounting, finance and other businesses where numbers and data are a key focus.”
