Arkansas Tech University students are helping to provide necessities for those in need in the River Valley.
Students enrolled in Dr. Jason Ulsperger’s sociology classes and members of the Tech chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta are partnering to collect commodity items to benefit the Main Street Mission.
Earlier this semester Raul Torres, president of Main Street Mission, spoke to students in Ulsperger’s class.
During his presentation, Torres discussed food insecurity, volunteerism and operating policies.
Torres said the Main Street Mission matters to the people it serves.
“We have to keep programs like ours going because there are so many who truly need the help,” said Torres.
