Student Success Center Offers Free Math, English Tutoring

Need help for math or English? Check free tutoring offered in the Student Success Center (SSC), room 140 in the Technology and Academic Success Support building on the Arkansas Tech University - Ozark Campus.

“Of the students who used the SSC last fall, 100 percent said they felt both welcome in the SSC and would recommend our tutoring to a friend,” SSC Coordinator Mike Bogue said.

The SSC offers Math tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are not necessary.

Tutoring for developmental reading and writing, composition I, and composition II is also offered Monday through Thursday, generally from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“The caliber of our tutors – Kayla, Chao, Megan, Cynthia, and Ms. Matthews – is second to none,” Bogue said. “They know what they’re doing, have the grades to prove it and can help students academically excel.”

In addition, tutor Ms. Matthews, available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., is a retired Math teacher who has also taught as an adjunct on the Ozark Campus.
