Student Organization Gives Back

McEver Hall at Arkansas Tech University is now better equipped to help students in the event of an emergency thanks to the generosity of one student organization.

The Pre-Med Club at Arkansas Tech University purchased an automated external defibrillator (AED) for use in McEver Hall, which is home to biological and physical sciences at Tech.

The club used funds from a 5K to purchase the AED, and organizers say they were excited about the opportunity to give back to Arkansas Tech.

“We would like to thank all our sponsors and participants for making this goal a reality,” said Jake Smith, 2011-12 club president.

The AED was installed earlier this summer and will be available for use beginning with the 2012-13 academic year.
