Tech Alumnus to Head Technical Center

Arkansas Tech University alumnus D. Chris Rink has been selected to serve as the director of the Western Arkansas Technical Center.

Western Arkansas Technical Center (WATC) is a secondary center that works to prepare students to enter the workforce upon completion of high school and to encourage students to continue their education after high school.

Rink holds a Masters in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech, and he has also obtained an Education Specialist degree from Arkansas Tech.

Since 2006, he has served as the superintendent at Hartford.  His background in educational administration and teaching also includes serving as principal at Mulberry and as an agriculture teacher at Coal Hill’s Westside High School.

Under Rink’s leadership, the WATC will serve area high schools in a six-county area of Western Arkansas, which will include Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Scott and Sebastian.
