Staff Senate Elects 2016-17 Officers

Lindelle Fraser was elected president of the Arkansas Tech University Staff Senate during a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Fraser succeeds Brandi Collins, who served as the first staff senate president at Arkansas Tech from 2014-16. Collins will remain as a member of staff senate for the 2016-17 year.

Shawna Davis (vice president), Julia Pope (secretary) and Brittany Martin (reporter) were also elected to 2016-17 officer positions with staff senate during the Nov. 2 meeting.

Martin is among five new senators elected to staff senate for 2016-17. The others are Andrea Eubanks, Rachel Alexander, Tammy Guarino and Heather Taylor. Pam Cooper and James Higgs were re-elected to staff senate during fall 2016 elections. Those elected in fall 2016 will serve two-year terms that will end on Oct. 31, 2018.

Additional returning members of the senate for 2016-17 are Sandra Anderson, Rhonda Fleming, Brittany Flippo, Tiffany Henry, Margie Link, Annie McNeely, Jeff Mumert, Jeff Nichols and Bettye Williamson.

The Arkansas Tech Staff Senate meets the first Wednesday of each month to address items of importance for staff members at the university. The meetings are open to guests.
