Spring Plant Sale Ends Monday

Ferns, geraniums, hanging baskets and azaleas are among the items available for purchase at the 29th annual Arkansas Tech Department of Agriculture spring plant sale.

The final day of the sale will be Monday, April 16, from 1-4 p.m. at the Tech Greenhouses on the north end of campus.

Due to construction on Reasoner Lane, there is only one road to access the Tech Greenhouses during the spring 2012 plant sale.

Shoppers should turn from North Arkansas Ave. to West Harrell Drive (across the street from the Hampton Inn) and follow the signs directing them to the greenhouses.

“These are teaching greenhouses, so all plants are student grown,” said Dr. Jim Collins, professor of horticulture at Arkansas Tech. “All proceeds will be used for more greenhouse plants and supplies.”

The sale also includes tomato and pepper plants, shrubbery, houseplants, bedding plants, cucumbers, squash and watermelons.
