Spring Fest, trail dedication slated for April 26

Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus is pleased to announce that Spring Fest, its annual springtime celebration, will be held Thursday, April 26, and will feature a dedication of the campus’ “Path to Progress” half-mile walking trail.

Named for its lead sponsor, SGL Group – The Carbon Company Trail was constructed to encourage health and wellness for students, as well as the Ozark community.

The dedication will kick off at 11 a.m. Following a lunch and award ceremony, the festivities will begin.

Chancellor Jo Alice Blondin said, “Spring Fest is a great end-of-the-semester celebration for our students, who work so hard and deserve an afternoon of fun with their family and friends.

“However, we also encourage members of surrounding River Valley communities to join in on the fun and, as always, enjoy the walking trail and adjacent disc golf course.”

For its graduation project, the class of 2011 donated funds to construct a nine-hole disc golf course on the north side of the campus. Frisbees are available to the public in the Arkansas Tech-Ozark library.

In the event of inclement weather, Spring Fest will be held at a later date. More information will be released as details develop.
