Spring Choir Concert Set for April 13

Five choirs and 140 students representing Arkansas Tech University will perform a spring concert at Witherspoon Auditorium on Tuesday, April 13. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. It will be free and open to the public. Gary Morris, director of the choral program at Arkansas Tech, said that the concert will have an eastern European flavor. The works of composers such as Bela Bartok, Gyorgy Orban and Zoltan Kodaly will be among those featured during the performance. All five choirs will also perform traditional American folk songs. The University Men’s Chorus, the University Women’s Chorus, the University Choir, the Chamber Choir and the Concert Chorale will perform during the concert. Morris directs the University Choir, the Chamber Choir and the Concert Chorale. Dr. Jon Clements oversees the University Men’s Choir, while Holly Ruth Gale directs the University Women’s Choir.
