Softball Suns Earn Split With ECU

Game One: Arkansas Tech 5, East Central 4 Ashley Keen’s walk-off, two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns to a 5-4 win over the East Central University Lady Tigers in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader. Victoria Huie (15-9) pitched a complete game for Arkansas Tech. She allowed four runs on 10 hits over seven innings. Keen finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate. Siarra Gomez was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and Shanna Davidson was 2-for-3 with a solo home run for the Golden Suns. Tech’s Whitney Robinson and Ashton Long added two hits apiece. Lacey Paulk (17-2) went the distance in the circle for ECU and was saddled with the loss. Shelby Simmons was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Lady Tigers. Game Two: East Central 4, Arkansas Tech 2 Brianna Nunley tossed a complete game and Lauren Reeves went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead East Central to a 4-2 win in Saturday’s nightcap.
