Students in Dr. Jason Ulsperger’s sociology classes and members of the Alpha Kappa Delta sociological honor society are continuing to make a difference in the River Valley.
The group recently collected more than 300 bottles of lotion and dry shampoo for Pope County Arkansas Department of Health Hospice.
Ulsperger delivered the items to Mary McNutt, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. McNutt says the items will be distributed to patients during the next few months.
“Volunteering gives students a feeling of being valued because it directly allows them to make a difference in someone else’s life,” Janna Holmes said. She is the president of Alpha Kappa Delta and helped orchestrate donations.
Hospice includes pain management and a variety of other services for people suffering from terminal illnesses who decide not to continue life-preserving treatment.
