Arkansas Tech University’s Austin Smith posted rounds of 74-74-70 for a 2-over par total of 218 and a sixth-place finish among a field of 75 players in the TVA Community Credit Union Classic at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Florence, Ala., on Monday and Tuesday.
Bryce Burke (T-17th, 75-77-70-222), D.J. Godoy (T-39th, 76-79-74-229), Dylan Lovell (T-54th, 78-75-82-235) and Julio Arguelles (68th, 81-77-84-242) also competed for the Wonder Boys in the event, which was hosted by the University of North Alabama.
Arkansas Tech finished in ninth place among 15 teams with a 54-hole team score of 902.
Limestone College won the team title with a total of 877. Limestone’s Griffin Brown shot 67-69-74. His 6-under par total of 210 was good for a four-stroke victory in the individual standings.
The Wonder Boys will compete in the Payne Stewart Invitational Oct. 26-27 in Branson, Mo.
