Arkansas Tech Students in Free Enterprise are taking part in a nationwide effort to provide food for those in need.
The Let’s Can Hunger challenge is sponsored by Campbell’s Soup Company. SIFE at Arkansas Tech has pledged to collect at least 5,000 pounds of canned food items before April.
Thus far, the group has collected about 500 pounds and the food will be donated to Main Street Mission.
The ongoing event is a comprehensive hunger challenge which includes raising awareness, translating awareness to action in the form of urgent hunger relief and empowering those in need to defeat the cycle of hunger.
Students interested in donating canned food items are able to do so on the 4th floor of Rothwell Hall.
