Sarah Shaw of Maumelle is the winner of a fall 2013 tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech University that was offered as a door prize for students attending the 16th annual Tech Open House.
Shaw (photographed), a senior at Maumelle High School, was among 800 students who attended Tech Open House at the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Shaw plans on enrolling at Arkansas Tech, the same institution that her father, aunt, uncle and several other family members attended.
Her name was randomly selected and announced as the scholarship winner at the Homecoming football game at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field on Saturday night.
Tech Open House 2012 provided prospective students, current students and their families with an opportunity to meet with faculty members from every degree program offered at Tech.
Personnel from the academic advising, admissions, financial aid, residence life and university honors were also on hand to provide information.
