Sexual Assault Day of Action Events Today

Students organizing The Red Flag Campaign at Arkansas Tech invite peers to join them on Twitter today for the first of four “Tweet About it Tuesdays.”

Today is the national Sexual Assault Day of Action, and the topic for the day is “healthy sexuality and preventing child sexual abuse.”

The discussion will begin at 2 p.m. and will be hosted by Joan Tabachnick, a nationally recognized child sexual abuse prevention expert, bystander blogger and author.

Organizers also encourage other students to set their Facebook profile picture to something related to the Red Flag Campaign to assist in efforts to raise awareness about dating violence among college students.

Tomorrow, students are invited to meet Dr. Michael Kimmel, a sociologist specializing in men and masculinity, at 5 p.m. and hear his presentation, “Guyland: The Perilous World Where Boys Become Men,” at 7 p.m.

Following the presentation, Kimmel will answer questions and host a book signing. Click here for more information about Kimmel.
