Sensory Evaluation Seminar Held

The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce Conference Room was the location for Saturday’s Sensory Evaluation Workshop “Tasting and Talking About Wine.” Hosted by Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus’s Viticulture and Enology programs the workshop empowered participants to do more than define and articulate what they like; it provided a methodical language and a fundamental understanding of many wine styles.

Ray Johnson, one of California’s most admired educators and professional competition judges,facilitated the workshop. He shared his vast knowledge of wine and wine pairing with energy and enthusiasm throughout the seminar.

Mr. Ken Warden, Chief Business and Community Outreach Officer stated, “It was nice to showcase our industry partners through the process of learning about grapes and the various styles of wine”.

Local wineries represented included: Chateau Aux Arc, Keels Creek Winery, Post Families, and Wiederkehr Wine Cellars, Inc.
