Senior Night for Tech Volleyball Tonight

Arkansas Tech University will conclude its 2012 volleyball regular season schedule and honor its three senior volleyball student-athletes at John E. Tucker Coliseum in Russellville tonight (Thursday, Nov. 8) when it hosts Southern Arkansas University in Great American Conference action.

The Golden Suns (24-9 overall, 10-3 GAC) and the Lady Muleriders (22-9, 11-2) will begin their match at 7 p.m. Admission will be free.

The winner of the match will claim the No. 2 seed in the 2012 GAC Volleyball Tournament, which is scheduled for Nov. 15-17 at Harding University in Searcy.

The Golden Suns defeated SAU 25-18, 25-15, 24-26, 25-18 on Oct. 16 in Magnolia.

Before tonight’s match begins, Arkansas Tech seniors Carly Florian (photographed, top left), Lindsey Layes (photographed, top right) and Brittany Ryan (photographed, bottom middle) will be recognized for their contributions to the Golden Suns volleyball program.

Arkansas Tech has accumulated a combined overall record of 114-31, two regular season conference championships, one postseason conference tournament title and a berth in the 2011 NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament during the past four seasons.

Tech is 54-9 at home the last four volleyball seasons.
