Schwartz Named Director of Student Aid

Lesli Nicole “Niki” Schwartz has been selected to serve as director of student aid at Arkansas Tech University.

Bernadette Hinkle, Arkansas Tech vice president for administration and finance, made the announcement on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Schwartz has worked in the Arkansas Tech Office of Financial Aid since 1998. She has served in the capacity of interim director since July 1, 2016.

“Niki will provide overall leadership to the student financial services office and to the Russellville and Ozark campuses on all financial assistance programs, packaging federal and state aid to students and providing financial literacy programs to students and parents,” said Hinkle. “She will ensure her staff’s focus on service excellence in providing students and parents with information about financial aid options to attend Arkansas Tech University. I want to thank Richard Harris, Dr. MarTeze Hammonds, Amy Anderson, Tammy Weaver and Dr. James Stobaugh for serving on the committee with me.”

Schwartz holds an Associate of Arts degree in general studies and a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree with an emphasis in public relations from Arkansas Tech.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in college student personnel from her alma mater and will graduate in May 2017.

Schwartz is National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators credentialed in campus based funds, cost of attendance, direct loans, federal Pell grant, professional judgement, return to Title IV, satisfactory academic progress and verification.
