Santos Collects 3rd GSC Honor This Season

Arkansas Tech’s Natalia Santos earned her third Gulf South Conference West Division women’s basketball player of the week award of the 2010-11 season on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

Santos, a junior forward from Sao Paulo, Brazil, averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game last week in victories over Southern Arkansas and Delta State.

She was 15-of-30 from the field for the week and she also made seven assists in Tech’s two wins.

Those victories allowed the Golden Suns (22-2 overall, 11-1 GSC) to assume sole possession of first place in the GSC West with two regular season games remaining.

Santos was previously named GSC West Division player of the week this season on Feb. 9 and Dec. 15.

Arkansas Tech will visit Harding University for a twin bill at Rhodes Field House in Searcy on Thursday, Feb. 24.

Game times will be 5:30 p.m. (women) and 7:30 p.m. (men). Both games can be heard on KWKK 100.9 FM and at www.atu.edu/techathleticaudiostreaming.shtml.
