The 2010 Russellville Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade is set for Thursday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. Santa will be riding in the parade and thousands are expected to line the streets in hopes of catching a glimpse.
The parade is the largest lighted Christmas parade in Arkansas. The theme this year is “Holiday of Lights”.
The Arkansas Tech Band of Distinction and other area bands will be marching in the parade and playing Christmas carols.
The parade will begin at Gardner Education Complex on South Arkansas, travel north on South Arkansas to Main Street, turn west on Main Street, and end at South El Paso.
Prior to the parade, the annual tree lighting will take place in downtown Russellville. The lighting ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in front of Bank of America.
