RPL Hosts Film Screening Tuesday

The Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center at Arkansas Tech University will offer a screening of a film entitled “Slavery By Another Name” on Tuesday. The screening will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 300 of the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center. Following the screening, Dr. Peter Dykema, professor of history at Arkansas Tech, will lead a discussion on the film. Tuesday’s event is the second film in a series taking placing throughout the semester. The next film, “The Loving Story” will be shown Tuesday, April 22. The final film in the series is “Freedom Riders,” and it is being shown on Tuesday, April 22. The series is entitled “Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle,” and it is part of the Bridging Cultures initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities, produced in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to encourage public conversations about the changing meanings of freedom and equality in America.
