Rothwell Lecture Today

Arkansas Tech University will welcome Tech alumnus Ben Rothwell to campus today for the Spring 2011 edition of the College of Business Distinguished Lecture Series.

Rothwell (photographed) will speak at 6 p.m. in Room 138 of the building named for his family — Rothwell Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The lecture was originally scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 10, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

A 1975 graduate of Arkansas Tech, Rothwell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

He went on to aid his wife and fellow Tech graduate, Terry Tucker Rothwell, in the founding of Celerit in 1985. Their Little Rock-based company has grown to aid top nationwide and community banks with core application software, item processing services and network managed services.

It was announced in January 2010 that the Rothwell family had made a substantial long-term commitment to Arkansas Tech University and that the new academic building on the Russellville campus would be named in their honor.

Rothwell Hall is a 60,000-square foot facility houses the Arkansas Tech College of Business, a regional office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center, the Roy and Christine Sturgis Academic Advising Center and two floors of classroom space.

The facility was formally dedicated during Homecoming 2010.
