ResLife Staff Spotlight: Vista Place

The staff at the Vista Place has been selected as the next group to receive the Office of Residence Life Staff Spotlight.

The Resident Director Appreciation and Recognition committee developed this honor as a way to recognize everyone on the staff for their dedication and hard work.

Additionally, the recognition program allows residents of the hall and the campus community to get to know their leaders.

Here is some information about each member of the staff:

Resident Assistant Tyrone Jordan is a freshman health and physical education/wellness science major from Pine Bluff. He enjoys being an RA because he gets to have fun with the staff and his residents. He enjoys playing sports and watching movies. His favorite candy is Snickers.

Resident Assistant Kirk Perrault is a sophomore sociology major from Hector. Kirk’s favorite program is midnight breakfast. He is a drummer and guitarist, plays sports, enjoys singing, and is an avid outdoorsman. He mountain bikes, rock climbs, and cave dives. He loved getting involved on campus as a freshman, and becoming an RA was naturally the next step.

Resident Assistant Sydney Sulcer is a sophomore chemistry and pre-pharmacy major from Fort Smith. Her favorite programs are the Vista Cookouts and New Year Resolutions. She became an RA after attending an informational meeting with a friend and realizing what a fun job it would be. Her favorite candy is a Milky Way or Gummy Bears.

Resident Assistant Hunter Rogers is a junior speech communication major from Alma. He hosted a Mario Kart DUI program to raise awareness about the effects of drunk driving. He is involved with the Arkansas Tech Debate Team, Wesley Foundation and Arkansas Tech Theatre. His favorite part of being an RA is developing strong relationships with his residents and being a resource for them when they need it.

Resident Director Jarod Matheney is a first year graduate student in the college student personnel program. His bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas is in kinesiology. His favorite TV shows are The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Game, Family Matters and Saved by the Bell. His favorite song is The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson and his favorite color is blue. One of his favorite quotes is “life isn’t about how many breaths we take, but about the moments that take our breath away.”
