ResLife Staff Spotlight: Baswell Hall

The staff at Baswell Hall has been selected as the next group to receive the Office of Residence Life Staff Spotlight.

The Resident Director Appreciation and Recognition committee developed this honor as a way to recognize everyone on the staff for their dedication and hard work.

Additionally, the recognition program allows residents of the hall and the campus community to get to know their leaders.

Here is some information about each member of the staff:

Resident Assistant Aaron Laughlin is a junior emergency management major from Fort Smith. He hosted a successful program to unravel the myth of Mentos and Coke. He lives by the quote, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. His favorite candy is Snickers.

Resident Assistant Jessica Ragland is a sophomore nursing major from Vilonia. She hosted an elevator party for her residents. Her hobbies consist of running, sports and outdoor activities. She likes being an RA because it allows her to help others and build relationships.

Resident Assistant Lyndi Mabry is a junior management and marketing major from Collierville, Tennessee. Her favorite candy is Twizzlers. She chose Arkansas Tech because of the beautiful campus and location. She enjoys reading and crafting.

Resident Assistant Drew Cox is a sophomore health and physical education major from Murfreesboro. His favorite part of being an RA is developing friendships and helping residents grow individually. He participates in the Wesley Foundation’s Age-to-Age program, plays golf and enjoys working out.

Resident Assistant Dalton Hills is a freshman geology major from Heber Springs. He chose to attend Arkansas Tech because it was close to home, had talented faculty and great people across campus. He enjoys cycling and his favorite candy is Milk Duds.

Resident Assistant Kathy Penrod is a junior early childhood education major from Bolingbrook, Illinois. Her favorite part about being an RA is meeting so many amazing people and being able to help anyone who needs it. She enjoys shopping, reading, being outside and crafting.

Resident Assistant Courtney Nichols is a senior psychology major from Harrison. Nichols loves working with other students and helping them find their place on campus. She chose Arkansas Tech because she loved the atmosphere and the campus. She enjoys working out, being outdoors and going to concerts.

Resident Director Michelle Kinney is a second year graduate student in the college student personnel program. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in women studies from Western Illinois University. Her favorite experience at Tech has been homecoming. Baswell placed in two competitions and she is very proud of her staff and residents. Her favorite movies are The Blind Side and The Help.
