Resident Director Training Underway

While many students are still enjoying their summer vacation, one group of Arkansas Tech students is already on campus preparing for this fall.  The 2011-2012 Resident Directors are taking part in training.

Resident Directors oversee operations in each of the residence halls at Arkansas Tech.  The Office of Residential Life says the intensive training sessions are designed to help the resident directors become familiar with the Arkansas Tech and each of the halls on the campus.

Throughout training, the resident directors are meeting with members of the Arkansas Tech staff to learn more about various services provided to Arkansas Tech students. Some of the topics covered include advising, emergency response and residence hall policies.  Additionally, the graduate students are able to work on planning special programs that will take place throughout the year in the various halls.

Upon completion of the training program, the resident directors will assist in training resident assistants before students arrive in August.

The Office of Residential Life says resident directors play an important part in the collegiate experience of the more than 2,500 students living on the Arkansas Tech campus.
