Resident Assistants Begin Training

More than 80 students will return to Arkansas Tech today to began preparing for the fall semester.

In all, 84 students who will serve as resident assistants for the 2012-13 academic year will move in to begin the training process.

Over the course of the next two weeks, the students will focus on developing skills that will allow them to better serve their students.

Some of the training will include learning how to check students into their rooms, planning programs for residents of the various halls and establishing a safe learning environment that correlates with Arkansas Tech policies.

The Office of Residence Life says resident assistants play an important part in the collegiate experience of the more than 2,500 students living on the Arkansas Tech campus.

Freshmen will begin moving into the residence halls on Saturday, Aug. 18, to begin special programming. Returning students will be able to move into the residence halls on Monday, August 20.
